MHA Nation Rail Plan Request for Proposals
This MHA Nation Rail Plan is part of the Fort Berthold Comprehensive Regional Transportation Plan and will provide an in-depth assessment of the rail transportation service and infrastructure serving the Fort Berthold Reservation. This plan will be the first effort by the Three Affiliated Tribes to formally address the issues and opportunities that rail transportation presents and establish policies, programs, processes and projects related to rail safety and service. As such, it is important that the project deliverable be drafted for the educational benefit of the public and to serve as the primary source document for rail-related issues. A broad public and stakeholder outreach effort is required to provide education about the study approach and identify needs and concerns.
MHA Nation is conducting this planning process to assist in the long range strategic development of infrastructure supporting the future needs and goals of the Fort Berthold Reservation residents and communities. This project is the result of a successful proposal to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) Discretionary Grant Program. Bubar and Hall Consulting, LLC is the project manager in coordination with the MHA Planning and Grants and Transportation Departments.
